After a major documentary success with 'Never Say Never 3D' and a two-part cameo on 'CSI,' Justin Bieber might be ready for an old-fashioned Hollywood role. According to the LA Times,
Bieber and Kutcher are expected to collaborate for the non-musical movie 'What Would Kenny Do?' about a guy who travels in time to guide his awkward 17-year-old self through high school.

Sounds kind of like '17 Again' meets 'Hitch' meets elements of 'Back to the Future,' but will it have the same appeal for Bieber fans that 'Never Say Never' had if it's only going to showcase his acting rather than his singing and slow-motion hair-swishing?

'Never Say Never 3D' is currently the highest-grossing concert film of all time, by the way, and domestically took in about the same as Kutcher's latest, 'No Strings Attached.' Also, due to Bieber's busy schedule, 'Kenny' won't go before cameras for another year. Will science have found a cure for Bieber Fever by then?

The script for the movie, which was originally raunchy and involved a hologram of the kid's older self rather than straight time travel, was conceived by Chris Baldi and made the 2008 Black List of best un-produced screenplays. Since then it has been reworked by '(500) Days of Summer' (and 'The Pink Panther 2') scribes Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, and is now set up at Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment (Might we see Jaden as Bieber's high school pal?) with Kutcher's Katalyst Entertainment also producing. Yet another rewrite is expected, and a director is being sought.
