Christina Aguilera is busy making the promotional rounds for her new gig on NBC's 'The Voice,' but she took some time to talk about her "old friend" Britney Spears, according to OK! Magazine.

Aguilera tweeted a congratulatory message to Spears last week when her album, 'Femme Fatale,' was released but admits she hasn't spent enough time listening to it to comment on it.

"You know what, I haven't heard the whole thing in its entirety," Aguilera said when asked about 'Femme Fatale.' "I've been really hard at work on this show. I haven't had quite the chance to go through the whole thing."

The singer only had nice things to say about her former pop music "rival," however.

"I am a huge supporter of her in light of the fact that both of our careers started off together and are still going and going strong," Aguilera said about Spears. "I just think at this point in the game it's extremely important to be supportive of fellow artists and especially females who get pitted against each other and torn apart."

Aguilera added, "As an old friend of mine from the 'Mickey Mouse Club,' I think it's important at this stage in the game to show my support."

Just days after an arrest for public intoxication, Christina Aguilera has officially joined the new NBC show 'The Voice.'

According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer has signed on to be a coach/judge on the Mark Burnett-produced singing competition. She'll join 'Forget You' singer Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine at the judging table.

"I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it," Aguilera said in a statement. "To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists' careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to 'The Voice.'"

Burnett said he knew right off the bat that Aguilera would be the perfect female coach.

"When I decided to produce 'The Voice,' I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera," Burnett told EW. "Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of 'The Voice.'"

Aguilera has made her fair share of headlines this year. After she botched the national anthem at the Super Bowl and had a slight stumble onstage at the Grammys, the singer was arrested for public intoxication on March 1.

Singers Rihanna and Christina Aguilera are under fire for their racy performances on the finale of British talent search 'The X Factor.' The performances took place on Dec. 11, the night before Matt Cardle was crowned the winner, but since then the British broadcasting regulator Ofcom and the show's network, ITV, have received almost 4,500 complaints, prompting an investigation into the show's finale.

Both singers, as well as their back-up dancers, wore lingerie-like outfits and provocatively shook their hips a little too much for the nearly 20 million viewers watching.
When Rihanna performed, she took off a striped tunic mid-song and showed off her curves while singing 'What's My Name?' Aguilera and her dancers, on the other hand, looked more like strippers during her performance of 'Express,' but it was similar in style to Aguilera's new movie 'Burlesque,' which features the song. Check out the videos after the jump.

Because the finale aired in the 7-9PM slot, before what the U.K. calls the "watershed" hour of 9PM set for adult content, ITV and the show face the possibility of being slapped with fines, if found guilty for breaking section 1.3 of the British broadcasting code. The rule stipulates that "children must be protected by appropriate scheduling from material that is unsuitable for them."

This is not the only trouble Aguilera has been in recently, last week images of the 'Dirrty' singer in various stages of undress hit the Web and her rep quickly responded that the images were private in nature and illegally obtained by hackers.

It was also recently reported that, despite rumors of a breakup, Rihanna and boyfriend Matt Kemp are blaming their busy work schedules for why they haven't been spotted together recently. A music source tells Pop Eater that the couple has not formally split ... yet
